If the earlier story of TOP GUN 2 finding a writer wasn’t enough ‘80s-heavy news for you, now comes word that Sylvester Stallone’s RAMBO 5 is to start shooting next month.

NOLA is reporting that Sly’s follow-up to 2008’s RAMBO will start shooting in Louisiana, which will make it one of several films to have shot in the state this year. JURASSIC WORLD and TERMINATOR GENISYS have both been shooting in New Orleans, whilst Josh Trank’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR has been shooting in Baton Rouge.

A fifth RAMBO installment has been on and off for a few years now, although Stallone seems to finally be moving ahead with the film. Only last month, Stallone confirmed that he was in serious training to return as John Rambo. In fact, the actor/writer/director even went as far as comparing the tone of the film as to be similar to NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. In terms of plot, it’s heavily speculated that Rambo will be going up against a Mexican drug cartel, with rumours persisting that one of Stallone’s most famous characters may finally get killed off.

RAMBO 5, also referred to by some as RAMBO V, will start shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 27th.
