Welcome once again to the movie marketplace that is Watto’s Emporium, which rounds up some of the best merch that we found across the online galaxy this week. And as is usual with the emporium, this week assembles polar opposites together in a merch mad gathering. We have an annoyed avian, slasher themed gambling and a hat fit for a king (of professional killers). So enter Watto’s Emporium for another walk round the ever-growing stalls of merchandising picks from here at Starburst…
3. Angry Birds 12″ Red Soft Toy with Sound (toysrus.co.uk, £19.99)
Many i-phone intolerant adults may well be shaking their heads at the prospect of The Angry Birds Movie being launched into cinemas today but fans of the game and kids will probably have a ball (or should that be an egg) seeing the furious feathered friends falling out with the green pigs. But if flinging birds with your index finger or seeing them hurled on the big screen is not enough for you, if you head on over to toysrus.co.uk you can pick up this official sound-making toy, which is apparently an angry bird but looks more quietly confident than mad if you ask us.
2. Assassins Creed Logo Cap (beltsbucklestees.com, £17)
Well, after years of waiting, with no news beyond the apparent casting of Michael Fassbender, Assassin’s Creed is finally diving into a haystack outside a cinema near you this year. Based on the immensely popular video game series, the film’s first trailer was released this week (and you don’t need to free climb a building to catch a glimpse, as you can check it out right here). While game-film transitions generally amount to a mound of cinematic dung, this film at least looks faithful to the source material, crap Kanye West trailer music aside. We digress, if you are up for getting into the mood and don’t fancy climbing, duelling and wearing big hoods- it has been a bit hot for all that fannying about- then why not visit the merchandising animus at beltsbucklestees.com and pick up this cap, brandishing the logo of the assassins.
1. Friday the 13th Playing Cards (grindstore.com, £4.99)
You know what day it is don’t you? It is Friday the 13th a date synonymous with bad luck and a date to take a short vacation if you happen to live in close proximity to Crystal Lake. Though to be fair, most would escape unchopped, unbroken and unstrimmed, if they just took their hanky panky someplace else…in all fairness to the unkillable, hockey-mask clad madman Jason Voorhees, we’d also be a tad cross if couples kept necking on our doorstep. Anyway, where were we? Oh yes, it is Friday the 13th, so stay out of the woods and instead why not log onto grindstore.com and update those plain old playing cards sat in your drawer, with these Friday the 13th themed playing cards, gleefully decorated with images across the undying Horror franchise, some gory, some less so. Ki Ki Ki Ma Ma Ma…
