Wednesday October 26th, 10.55pm – The Howling (1981)
Joe Dante’s tale of a lycanthrope cult hits all the right marks. Stars Dee Wallace, Patrick Mcnee, and John Carradine and Rob Bottin’s amazing special effects makeup.
Thursday October 27th, 11am – The Shape of Things to Come (1979)
‘Adapted’ from the H.G. Wells novel (only the names remain!), this forgotten Star Wars rip-off is still a fun watch. Stars Jack Palance and Barry Morse (Space: 1999) (Also screening on Sunday at 4pm.)
Friday October 28th, 10.45pm St Agatha (2018)
Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw), this is a solid entry into the nasty nuns genre with some suitably horrid acts of punishment!
Sunday October 30th, 10pm – 1.05am The Vintage Vault
Legend continues to celebrate the Golden Age of genre cinema with a season of double bills. This week, there are a pair of fifties classics. First up the superb First Man into Space (1959), in which a hapless astronaut returns to Earth with a terrible affliction. Next, Hammer Films continue their updating of literary horrors with Dracula (1958). Christopher Lee cements himself as the definitive bloodsucker and Peter Cushing is his archenemy Van Helsing.
