Legend continues to pack the schedules with great films and TV shows, but here are our picks you shouldn’t miss this week…
Tuesday October 11th, 11pm – The Cleaning Lady (2018)
A cleaning lady, badly scarred from burns, becomes obsessed with her employer after she befriends her in this impressive indie hit.
Thursday October 13th, 4pm – Kull the Conqueror (1997)
With pure typecasting, Kevin Sorbo becomes the legendary Robert E. Howard character. Ironically, it’s actually an adaptation of a Conan story rather than Kull, but is fun for fans of sword and sorcery! Wayne’s World star Tia Carrera also appears. (Also showing on Thursday at 11am and Saturday at 3pm.)
Friday October 14th, 12.55am – Haunt (2019)
Halloween-set terror as a group of friends explores a haunted house. Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who provided the screenplay for A Quiet Place.
Saturday October 15th, 9pm – Sweeney! (1977)
You’re nicked! The first big-screen spin-off for the hugely popular series is a fantastic, gritty and memorable classic. John Thaw and Dennis Waterman are joined by Barry Foster (Frenzy) for this unmissable trip back to how life in the seventies.
Sunday October 11th, 9pm – 12.10am The Vintage Vault
Legend continues to celebrate the Golden Age of genre cinema with a season of double bills. This week, there are a pair of fifties classics. First up is the frosty Hammer adventure The Abominable Snowman (1957), in which Peter Cushing and Forest Tucker go on an expedition in the Himalayas. It’s directed by the prolific Val Guest. The threat is of a harder kind in The Monolith Monsters (1957) as a meteorite brings sentient crystals, which descend on a desert town. It’s a lot better than it sounds!
