Adam Wingard (Godzilla vs Kong) directs this fabulous spin on the home invasion subgenre. The brilliant cast includes Sharni Vinson, AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, and Barbara Crampton.
Friday October 22nd, 4pm – Mysterious Island (1961)
Based on the novel by Jules Verne, this fantasy adventure boasts stop-motion effects by the legendary Ray Harryhausen – recommendation enough for any film. This one has Herbert Lom as Captain Nemo who helps a group of castaways. (Also screening on Saturday morning at 8am.)
Saturday October 23rd, 9pm Mama (2013)
Director Andy Muschietti expands on his fantastic short film with his debut feature. A pair of abandoned young girls who have been brought up by an entity they call ‘Mama’ are brought into civilisation by their uncle.
Sunday October 24th, 9pm – Dead Ringers (1988)
David Cronenberg’s excellent psychological thriller has Jeremy Irons playing a pair of twins who work as gynaecologists and share much more than their profession.
