Here are some great reasons to tune into Horror Channel this week….

Tuesday August 17th, 10.50pm – Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992)

Pinhead (Doug Bradley) is back – encased in the Pillar of Souls – and wants to take over more souls with his Cenobites. Bradley also plays Pinhead’s former self in the form of a First World War British army captain. A fun third instalment into the series based on Clive Barker’s book.

Wednesday August 18th, 6pm – The 4400 (Season 1 Episode 1)

The popular series from 2004 returns as part of the Sci-Fi Zone on weekdays. 4400 people, who disappeared many years earlier turn up altogether, beamed down by a ball of light. Unaged and with no memory of what happened, they struggle to adapt to the modern world, and some have special abilities. A reboot is due soon, so why not catch up with the original?

Thursday August 19th, 9pm – Christine (1983)

John Carpenter’s adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel about a 1958 Plymouth Fury with a possessively murderous mind of its own. A cracking film that’s still a lot of fun to watch.

Friday August 20th, 10.50pm – Flatliners (1990)

An all-star cast – including Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, and Kevin Bacon – make this OTT thriller a great watch. A group of students attempt to find out what happens when we die, so devise an experiment that allows the volunteer to have experiences of the afterlife, but each one comes back with something sinister. Directed by the late Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys, Batman Forever).

Sunday August 22th, 6.45pm – Krull (1983)

Fun cult sword and sorcery fantasy with a great cast of British talent. The plot’s overly convoluted, but the effects and adventure are too enjoyable to miss. Watch out for Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane as bandits, and Carry On regular Bernard Bresslaw under a load of makeup as the Cyclops. Director Peter Yates had a fantastic, varied career with credits such as Summer Holiday, Bullitt, and The Deep.

Tune into Horror Channel on Sky 317, Virgin 149, Freeview 68, Freesat 138.
