Here are five great reasons to tune into Horror Channel this week….
Tuesday October 12th, 11am – Robot Overlords (2014)
Fabulous British indie sci-fi starring Gillian Anderson, Callan McAuliffe, and Ben Kingsley. The effects are stunning and it’s a great action-packed film that all the family can enjoy. (Also screening Saturday at 3pm.)
Wednesday October 13th, 9pm – The ‘Burbs (1989)
Joe Dante’s superb black comedy involves a normal American suburb that becomes a hotbed of suspicion and conspiracy when a strange family move in down the street. The all-star cast includes Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Corey Feldman, and Carrie Fisher.
Thursday October 14th, 10.45pm – Child’s Play 3 (1991)
Chucky is back in this controversial entry into the ever-popular franchise. Don Mancini provides the script but hands the director’s chair over to Jack Bender. Wanna play?
Friday October 15th, 1pm – 13 Ghosts (1960)
The master of ballyhoo William Castle directs this classic, fun chiller. Not to be confused with the gory re-imagining, Castle’s film is suitable for most ages. Originally released with a ‘ghost viewer’, which allowed audiences to choose whether to see the spirits or not. Watch out for Margaret Hamilton – the Wicked Witch of the West herself – as the housekeeper.
Sunday October 17th, 6.30pm – Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969)
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson made the break from Supermarionation to live-action with this brilliant feature. Starring Roy Thinnes (The Invaders), Ian Hendry, and Patrick Wymark, it was originally entitled Doppelgänger and features a space mission that returns to a parallel version of Earth.
