It’s that time of year when all eyes are on the various awards ceremonies spread across the globe… but it’s the ‘big one’ that really matter: The Razzie Awards.

The biggest news coming out of the event is that Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four managed to nab three Razzies, cementing its status as a total dud of a movie. Trank’s FF effort grabbed the gongs for Worst Director, Worst Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel, and Worst Picture (technically shared with Fifty Shades of Grey).

This latest telling of the tale of Marvel’s First Family bombed with critics, with fans, and, more importantly, at the box office. After all, how many times have we seen a film slammed by all yet take home a decent wedge of the ever-important dollar, which in turn leads to an unwanted sequel? Fantastic Four took home a paltry $168 million globally from a $120 million budget, with the film deemed one of the very worst superhero movies of all-time. So bad was it, the already-confirmed Fantastic Four 2 was scrapped by 20th Century Fox, not to mention there’s even rumours that the studio are now open to the idea of the FF property going back to Marvel Studios.

Oh, and in other news, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won himself one of them Oscar thingies for his turn in The Revenant.
