Facepunch studios, who were behind the impressive survival game RUST, have announced its upcoming title RIFTLIGHT, a twin stick shooter for the PC. As well as utilising the traditional trappings of the twin stick approach, along with games like RENEGADE OPS, RIFTLIGHT will also incorporate RPG elements, including loot and levelling.

The class system is broken down into three playable categories, these being Ranged, Caster, and Melee. No surprises there. Interestingly enough, the game will also feature multiplayer elements, in which players can earn better loot, taking on random missions with random layouts.

While the game is still very much in its infancy stage of development, Facepunch look set to serve up a worthy successor to RUST, one with gorgeous artwork and interesting mechanics.
