Experience a Fully Immersive Screening of TRON

The successful FUTURE PRESTON TOURS season ends on Saturday 29th November with an immersive screening of the classic ‘80s film TRON. Attendees at the event, which takes place at 53 DEGREES in Preston will be plunged into a neon-lit, retro-fitted video game world, with live music, DJs, game tournaments, and an exciting interactive performance, along with a licensed bar and after-party until late.

From the press release:

"We're thrilled to have been able to deliver this amazing Sci-Fi programme as part of the BFI's national festival,” said Jackie Jones, production manager at TEC. “We're so pleased that our audiences are enjoying the experiences we've created so far, and TRON will be out of this world!"

The TRON tour meets up at Preston’s Bus Station, where ticket holders will be guided through an immersive gaming experience where they are taken on a journey through future Preston. In teams, they will “discover ever-changing environments, solve puzzles and most importantly, safely transport the disc of light”. The trail leads to Fylde Road’s 53 Degrees, venue of the screening, late night bar and after-party, where they’ll be further immersed in the computer world of TRON.

Despite a lukewarm reception on its original release in 1982, Steven Lisberger’s film has since seen its cult and franchise snowball to something nearing STAR WARS proportions. It remains an original and visually stunning piece of cinema that represents a landmark work in the history of computer animation. “We’re all huge fans of TRON here,” said TEC’s Ruth Heritage “We’re proud to be showing it to audiences in an innovative and creative new light.”

Future Preston Tours presents TRON takes place from 6pm on Saturday 29th November. Tickets are £12 and are available from Skiddle, SEE Tickets, Preston Visitor Information, The Continental and The Ferret.

Future Preston Tours has been created by They Eat Culture as part of the BFI’s nationwide Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder season, supported by Film Hub NWC.
