Spellcasting:  N-O-S-T-A-L-G-I-A.  Cult kids TV show KNIGHTMARE is making a comeback, this time as a stage show…

For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to grow up in the late eighties to early nineties, Knightmare was a gameshow that allowed a team of young nerds to guide one of their friends (known as the adventurer)  through a series of Dungeons and Dragons style encounters.  Thanks to the magic of green screen and some scenery chewing acting, it resembled the sort of fantasy roleplaying video game that we take for granted these days.

Knightmare Live is a planned interactive comedy show, which hopes to launch at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. If all goes to plan, members of the public will be guided by comedians into all sorts of wacky hijinks. The funding for this project will be via kickstarter, details of which can be found here.

Of course, the teams on the original TV show very rarely won; we wonder if those lucky enough to adventure onto the stage will have similar luck?
