This summer Studiocanal, in association with The Independent Cinema Office, are organizing a short season of screenings of classic British films at venues up and down the country. What makes it great news for SF and horror buffs is that three of the movies are genre favourites.

On Tuesday, 19th June, there’s Nicolas Roeg’s bizarre and dazzling THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH. Meanwhile, Hammer is represented by two outstanding flicks. THE PLAGUE OF ZOMBIES (12th June) is their brilliantly zany tale of a sleepy Cornish village that becomes infested with the living dead. QUATERMASS AND THE PIT (3rd July) sees the studio delivering a wonderfully lurid SF/horror crossbreed, with some impressive POLTERGEIST-style SFX.

All three films have been recently restored, so they should look amazing on the big screen. To suss out whether there’s a screening near you, go to www.independentcinemaoffice.org.uk, or check out the Made in Britain Facebook page HERE.
