With Halloween on the horizon, our friends at Grimm Up North have lined up some treats to keep your horror appetite whetted.

Starting on the big night itself, at the marvellously grand Stockport Plaza Cinema is a rare big screen outing for THE EXORCIST, William Friedkin’s classic 1973 film.

Then, on November 1st, over at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester City Centre, there is a double bill of Dario Argento’s seminal SUSPIRIA – what better place to see this classic than a ballet school? This is followed by a preview screening of upcoming release EXCISION.

On November 6th, it’s back to the Plaza, Stockport for THE SHINING, Stanley Kubrick’s version of the Stephen King novel, being shown in its extended US cut which is 20 minutes longer than the one we are used to over here. The perfect accompaniment is Rodney Asher’s documentary, ROOM 237 which goes into all the supposed hidden meanings and conspiracy theories surrounding Kubrick’s film.
