Festival of Fantastic Films

The 25th Festival of Fantastic Films, which takes place in Manchester from October 31st – November 2nd, have announced even more amazing guests to celebrate their silver anniversary.

Fans of extreme Italian cinema will be pleased to know director Ruggero Deodato (CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST) will be making a welcome return to the event, alongside actors Francesca Ciardi (CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST) and Me Me Lai (LAST CANNIBAL WORLD).

Fellow director Luigi Cozzi (CONTAMINATION) will be along with the lovely Caroline Munro, who appeared in Cozzi’s STARCRASH, as well as several Hammer and ’70s horror films.

Other Hammer stars, Yvonne Monlaur (BRIDES OF DRACULA), Judy Matheson (TWINS OF EVIL), Robin Stewart (THE LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES, and more famously, the TV series, BLESS THIS HOUSE), and Janina Faye (DRACULA) will also be in attendance.

Also appearing will be author Stephen Volk (GHOSTWATCH), academic Richard Dyer (author of several film studies books) and horror author (as well as festival President) Ramsey Campbell.

As well as on-stage question and answer sessions, there will be autograph opportunities, a film fair, and plenty of classic and modern sci-fi, horror, and fantasy films. It’s also one of the only events where you can sit in the bar chatting with the star guests!

The festival has a wonderfully laid-back family feel, and is held at the Manchester Conference Centre on Sackville Street, not too far from Piccadilly Rail Station.

For a very limited time, tickets are available at the price of the first event, which is a mere £25 for the whole weekend (accommodation not included, naturally), but hurry as this will increase very soon!
