If you are anywhere near the Royal Observatory, Greenwich you might like to check out their science fiction event Alien Revolution. Running until September 8th 2013 this provides a chance to reflect upon our fascination with alien life.

There is something to appeal to most people with exhibits, art and a series of talks. Of particular note are:

  • We are Aliens a new planetarium show narrated by Rupert Grint
  • Aliens in Science-Fiction a six-week course on the representation of aliens (now underway)
  • Movie screenings including the War of the Worlds (1953) on June 20th, It Came from Outer Space (1953) on July 18th and This Island Earth (1955) on August 15th.

As part of the event the collection of short stories Pandemonium: The Lowest Heaven (reviewed on Starburst) is released in June.
