2014 just keeps getting better and better for TWIN PEAKS fans. First we had the long awaited Blu-ray release of the series, complete with the now legendary, never before seen deleted scenes. Then last week, we had the news that, frankly, none of us ever thought would happen – a new series, written by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and set to air in 2016. And now, Frost has announced his next novel will be set in Twin Peaks, and bridge the 25-year gap in the show’s history.

THE SECRET LIFE OF TWIN PEAKS “reveals what has happened to the people of that iconic fictional town since we last saw them 25 years ago and offers a deeper glimpse into the central mystery that was only touched on by the original series.” (Or so it says here anyway.)

Frost, who has published several non-TWIN PEAKS novels stated, “This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of TWIN PEAKS to life, for old fans and new. I couldn’t be more thrilled.

The novel format handily allows the series co-creator to fill in gaps in the show’s history, and handily means that, unlike the new series, it won’t have to be confined to the present day. It should also give Frost to revisit a few of the show’s most iconic characters, chief amongst them Bob, Pete Martell and Major Briggs whose real-life counterparts are no longer with us.

THE SECRET LIFE OF TWIN PEAKS will be published in late 2015.
