With Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne set to step up and become her own superhero in 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, now comes confirmation that we can expect to see Wasp in the currently-untitled fourth Avengers movie.

Lilly revealed the news to Blastr as she firstly explained where things currently stand with Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man sequel. “Right now an initial script has been created but it has not been approved by the higher powers that be, by the Feiges,” she said, “so I haven’t seen it yet but I have talked to Peyton about where they’re headed and what they want to focus on. I’m excited because it’s essentially going to be the origin of the Wasp. We’re going to see the Wasp for the first time take on her mantle, and put on the suit, and fly about, and do her thing.”

Casting an eye towards the fourth Avengers effort, Lilly then added, “Following that one, there’s an Avengers series coming out that’s a two-parter, and the Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part because they really want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp so that they can give it its due time.”

Originally the third and fourth Avengers movies were titled Infinity War Part I and Infinity War Part II. Both will be directed by Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War’s Anthony and Joe Russo, but earler this year saw the title of the movies changed-up. The first of this two-parter is now known simply as Avengers: Infinity War, whilst the second film (the fourth of the Avengers series) has yet to be given a confirmed new title just yet. The two of these upcoming Avengers films will be shot back-to-back ahead of May 2018 and May 2019 release.

As for Ant-Man and the Wasp, that will shoot in Atlanta next year ahead of a July 6th, 2018 release.
