Tim Burton’s latest dish of whimsy, MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, is heading for a February 2015 production commencement, so naturally the casting couch is being dusted off and prepared. Now the DARK SHADOWS star Eva Green is set to negotiate her way back into the care of Burton and is eyeing up the titular role.

Green has appeared in numerous projects of interest recently (PENNY DREADFUL, 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE and next month’s SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR) and it seems as though her seductive talents are again attracting the tentacles of one Mr. Timothy Walter Burton. The director will adapt Ransom Riggs’ novel which was published only 3 years ago and tells the tale of a boy who travels to a strange orphanage situated on a Welsh island. Here he encounters Miss Peregrine and the powerful children that she guards. Creatures will certainly feature in antagonistic roles and this narrative sounds like the perfect orchestra for the filmmaker to conduct.

A release date of July 31st 2015 has been acquired and this will follow Burton’s BIG EYES that arrives in the US on Christmas Day this year (UK release date currently unannounced).
