Following from the recent news that Jason Lee and Shannen Doherty are on board, Kevin Smith has today revealed that Ethan Suplee will also be returning as Willam for MALLRATS 2.

Smith took to his Facebook page to post the below photo along with the captain: “IT’S NOT A STAGE! Willam still can’t see that damned sailboat! Skinny-boy ETHAN SUPLEE is going back to MALL, ya’ll! 7 down, 5 to go! Collect ‘em all! #MR2”

In his post Smith again refers to how many are “to go”, by which he means returning cast members yet to sign on. As well as Ethan Euplee, it’s also been confirmed that Jason Lee is back as Brodie Bruce, Shannen Doherty as Rene Mosier, Michael Rooker will be back as Jared Svenning, Stan Lee will be returning in some form, and then there will, of course, be an appearance from Jason Mewes and Smith himself as Jay and Silent Bob. 

As for who the other returning names are, we’d have to guess that Jeremy London’s T.S. Quint, Ben Affleck’s Shannon Hamilton and Claire Forlani’s Brandi Svenning are likely, with the other possibilities being Joey Lauren Adams’ Gwen, Renee Humphrey’s Trish the Dish (although apparently no one calls her that), Priscilla Barnes’ Miss Ivannah or maybe even Scott Mosier’s Roddy. Hell, it could even by Brian O’Halloran’s Gill Hicks or the Easter bunny!

No release date has been given for the film as of yet, but expect to hear more on this as it develops. All of us here at Moonbase Alpha, we absolutely cannot wait to see Brodie and the gang back and on the big screen.
