2006’s Cold Prey became an underground favourite slasher film of many a genre fan, and now comes word that Roar Uthaug’s movie is getting remade.

Deadline is reporting that WWE Studios has picked up the rights to do an English language remake of this movie, and The Remaining’s Casey La Scala is penning the screenplay. The original film – which spawned a 2008 sequel and a 2010 prequel – starred Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Rolf Kristian Larsen, Viktoria Winge, Tomas Alf Larsen, although no cast members have been announced for this redo at this early stage. Given how WWE Studios efforts often feature WWE superstars, it could well be that one of your favourite grapplers may end up nabbing a role in the new Cold Prey eventually.

The current blurb on the film reads:

A group of friends decide to ski out of bounds and are forced to take shelter when a storm hits, finding themselves imprisoned in an abandoned ski lodge along with a maniacal killer.

Expect more on this remake as it develops.
