With Terminator Genisys having seemingly killed the Terminator franchise off, another nail has been put into the coffin by Emilia Clarke.

The Game of Thrones actress, who played Sarah Connor in last year’s Genisys, has revealed that she definitely, definitely, definitely will not be returning for any Terminator movies. When asked by SuperheroHype about a return, Clarke said, “No. Can I say that? It’s okay. No. Uh-uh. But I have some very different roles coming up.”

Originally, Terminator Genisys was to be the start of a new trilogy of films, but the poor response to the movie saw plans quickly changed. In fact, those next two Terminator efforts were quickly pulled, before Skydance’s Dana Goldberg claimed that the franchise was merely “readjusting.”

Whilst some higher-ups may be keen to somehow keep this once fan-favourite franchise alive, if we get any future Terminator outings then they’ll certainly be no Emilia Clarke present.
