Whilst Frank Castle is set to butt heads with the Guardian Devil in Season 2 of Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive Daredevil, we also know that Elektra is to make her presence known. And we now know who’ll be playing the delectable Miss Natchios.

It’s now official: Elodie Yung has landed the Elektra gig. Yung is best known for roles in the likes of G.I. Joe: Retaliation and District 13: Ultimatum. As for the character of Elektra, as well as being Matt Murdock’s ‘one true’, she also happens to be one of the most dangerous assassins in the Marvel comic book world. And in fairness, comic book fans will know that Matt is one of those who happens to have several ‘one trues’.

On the news, Marvel’s Head of TV Jeph Loeb said, “After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

For the eagle-eyed of you out there, you’ll have noticed Elektra get the briefest of brief teases in Season 1 of Daredevil as Foggy Nelson made reference to a “Greek chick.” Well this would be the very same Greek chick in question.

Season 2 of the show has this week started shooting, with Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. As well as that, we’re also set to get Bullseye in this new season, and there’s reportedly some talk of Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza being in negotiations for a role.

Daredevil Season 2 will debut early next year.
