After last month saw us find out that Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel would be returning to the Arrowverse for this December’s annual superhero show crossover, it was also revealed that Lois Lane was going to be joining this shared realm for said crossover. And now, we have word on who’ll be playing this iconic comic book character.

As per The CW, Grimm’s Elizabeth Tulloch has landed the Lois gig. We’ve seen Lois’ sister Lucy appear in Supergirl and the character herself has been namedropped at several points, but now we’ll finally get to see Lois Lane alongside Superman.

On this news, executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner enthused, “We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.”

If The CW can get Lois even half as right as they have the Big Blue Boy Scout, we should all be in for a treat. While many have been left so-so on the cinematic outings for Henry Cavill’s Superman, Tyler Hoechlin’s Supes appearances in Supergirl have been absolutely pitch-perfect to date; capturing the hope and humanity of Superman and making you again realise why he’s such a beloved pop culture figure.

This year’s Arrowverse crossover begins with The Flash on December 9th, although this year’s event will only be made up of three episodes rather than the regular four. For this year’s crossover, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is being skipped over for once. In addition to bringing in Superman and Lois Lane, of course, the crossover will also mark the Arrowverse debut of Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman.
