With regular rumblings over the past few years of Edge of Tomorrow getting a sequel, now comes word that a follow-up is indeed happening.

Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers has brought in Matthew Robinson to begin work on the script for just such a sequel. Having both teased a sequel at times, it’s expected that director Doug Liman and star Tom Cruise will be back for what may end up being called Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Similarly, Emily Blunt is another who may well be back in action.

Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s All You Need is Kill manga, 2014’s Edge of Tomorrow saw The Cruise playing a public relations officer caught in an eerie time loop as an alien war rages on. Each and every time he dies, he reawakens at the beginning of that same day but with all of the memories and experiences of his prior death intact. During its cinema run, Edge of Tomorrow brought home a $370 million box office from a budget just shy of $180 million.

As ever, expect more on this Edge of Tomorrow sequel as it continues to develop.
