With a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow currently in development, that follow-up has seemingly been given an official (and slightly odd) title.

To give a little bit of background to things, the Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt-starring time travel thriller was titled simply Edge of Tomorrow during its cinema run. By the time it was released on DVD and Blu-ray, however, Warner Bros. made the odd decision to retitle the film in most markets. Pulling from the movie’s tagline, the home release of the film had it labelled as Live Die Repeat.

With Doug Liman returning to direct – not to mention Cruise and Blunt returning – the director has revealed the sequel’s title to Collider. Speaking to the outlet, Liman enthused, “We have an amazing story! Its’ incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film. It will be called Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Tom is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”

Live Die Repeat and Repeat? Well, so long as Tom’s excited about it, we guess…

At present, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse are penning the screenplay for the sequel, with no definite release date officially booked in at this stage. Plot-wise, Liman has said that the next film will serve as both a sequel and a prequel to the time travelling, alien-battling original 2014 movie.

As ever, expect more on, err, Live Die Repeat and Repeat as it develops.
