Warner Brothers has officially revealed that Eddie Redmayne has landed the lead role in the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Redmayne is best known to most for his Oscar-winning turn as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, and his role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be that of Newt Scamander, said to be the Wizarding World’s leading magizoologist.

The plot of the film will focus on Scamander’s many travels and the magical creatures that he’s been acquainted with, all of which lead to him writing a certain Hogwarts School textbook known as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

At present, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for a November 18th, 2016 release and will be the first part of a trilogy.
