Eagerly-awaited short horror film Echoes of the Passed will have its World Premiere at the prestigious LA Shriekfest Film Festival. Shiekfest, in its 17th year, is the longest-running genre festival in Los Angeles. Director Scott Lyus has announced that the film will screen take place at the legendary Raleigh Studios on Melrose Boulevard in the historic Charlie Chaplin Theatre at the event that runs from October 5th – 8th.

Director Scott Lyus said: “At the start of this journey I had two or three festivals on my list that would be the dream World Premiere, and anyone that knows me, knows Shriekfest was the very top of that list. Since I first started making indie horror back in 2012 Shriekfest has always been the one festival that you hear about again and again. Keeping to its indie roots and helping push indie talent in front of the right people, I could not be happier to be holding our World Premiere with these guys, in the heart of the movie-making world. And to be selected to also screen in Orlando makes this selection even greater. While I can’t make the Orlando date, I will be flying out and introducing the film for our World Premiere in L.A and I can’t wait to meet and talk horror with all the die hard genre fans Shriekfest is famous for.

More festival announcements are expected soon, and you can read more about the making of the film – and the earlier short Silently Within Your Shadow in an upcoming issue of STARBURST when we interview director Scott Lyus.
