Members of Eastercon, the UK’s oldest science fiction convention, are consulting the fans on its future.

The questionnaire can be found here, with the aim being to ask the fans how Eastercon should organise itself in the future. This is an initial step in a planned series of talks and discussions.

Eastercon has been around since 1948 and is ran by the fans for the fans. The event (which is traditionally held on Easter weekend) typically invites the great and the good from the Scientific, Science Fiction and Fan communities to talk, drink and generally geek out over all things fannish.

Eastercon currently has no official governing body; each event is carried out as an individual enterprise that embodies a loose collection of traditions and well-meaning arrangements gathered over the years. Due to its age Eastercon has gained many assets, including an unrivalled level of expertise in organisation fannish conventions.

With the convention calendar becoming increasingly more crowded every year, many in the community are expressing a desire to see the most established UK convention step up and adapt.
