With video game adaptation Rampage now shooting, star Dwayne Johnson has moved to give fans a little bit of an update on what we can expect from the movie and its plot.

Of course, any who have played any of the various Rampage games over the years will have a good idea of what to expect when the film hits the big screen next April. For those not familiar with the fan favourite video game series, Johnson gives you a perfect summation of what Rampage is all about.

The hulking former WWE World Champion took to his ever-busy Instagram page to spill the beans with the below picture and the following caption:

“Goin’ primal. Good to finally have boots on the ground here in Georgia for production of #RAMPAGE. I head up an anti poaching unit out of Rwanda. My best friend is a rare albino gorilla named, George. Very bad people infect George, an alligator and a wolf with a serum. All three animals grow at an unprecedented rate. Their size, speed, agility and violent aggression is off the charts. They go on a deadly rampage and want to destroy the world.

George not happy. Me not happy. When animals like you, they lick you. When they don’t like you, they kill you. I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them.

We have the best VFX monster making team (WETA) on the planet. Our actors and crew have been working very hard to raise the monster genre bar. As always, let’s have some fun. Let’s shoot.”

As well as Johnson on board, Rampage will also star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald, Breanne Hill, and Malin Akerman.

For those not familiar with the Rampage video game series, the original arcade game was released in 1986 and allowed players to control one of three monsters. These were a giant ape named George, a giant lizard named Lizzy, and a giant werewolf named Ralph. Players would get to battle across the United States as they fought the military. That game would be followed by several sequels, which in turn brought more new characters and monsters into the fold as the action moved to the rest of the globe and even up to the stars.

To be directed by San Andreas’ Brad Peyton, Rampage is set for an April 20th, 2018 release.
