Whilst many are unsure what to make of the upcoming new Jumanji movie, star Dwayne Johnson has moved to confirm that the film will not be a reboot.
It was presumed that the movie would indeed be a reboot/remake/redo, but Johnson, who is headlining the film, took to his Instagram page to say, “For the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story.”
Johnson also confirmed that production on this new Jumanji will start in two weeks, with the ever-busy actor having just finished work on Fast 8.
No details are known on just how Sony Pictures will continue the tale of the 1995 Robin Williams-starring movie, but we do know that Johnson will be joined by Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas.
At present, this Jumanji “continuation” is set for a July 28th, 2017 release.
