Just when you think a film’s already full enough… those Doomsday rumours are back.

A few months ago, rumours started swirling that said Doomsday, the beast responsible for ‘killing’ Superman in the iconic DEATH OF SUPERMAN comic book arc, was to appear in Zack Snyder’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. Talk of the Supes-slayer joining the film had seemingly died down, but now Bleeding Cool is reporting that one of their reliable sources has seen designs for a version of the character that will appear in BATMAN V SUPERMAN. Treat this as a rumour for now, but surely the Batman/Superman mash-up can’t have enough room to cram yet another character in, right?

The character of Doomsday was created by Dan Jurgens in 1992, purely with the purpose of DC running their ‘Superman bites the bullet’ story. A genetically-engineered killing machine, Doomsday has reappeared at various points since his debut, plus a version of him also appeared in The CW’s SMALLVILLE, played by Sam Witwer.

As well as Lex Luthor as the big bad, recent reports claim that Mr. Zsasz, David Cain, Morgan Edge and Amanda Waller will appear as secondary villains in Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL follow-up. On the other side of the fence, we’ll have appearances from Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and seemingly Aquaman. Yeah, and this isn’t a Justice League movie, remember.

Directed by Snyder, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is currently set for a 6th May, 2016 global release.
