Halloween celebrations begin in earnest this weekend and Manchester’s FAB Café has a double treat as part of their ‘Cabin in the Woods’ event, as they will also be hosting Bee VR for customers to try some virtual reality games and experiences.

From 6pm to 11pm on Saturday October 27th, you can experience cutting edge VR thanks to the Manchester-based team at Bee VR. What can you expect? Well, they told us that they’ll “be hosting various spooky games and experiences for people who are brave enough to step into the scary side of the VR world.” There will be also be a secret prize for the winner of the best fancy dress, so make sure you have your horror glad rags on!

Jake Jones, Bee VR’s director told us. “We have been travelling to and even hosting events across Greater Manchester for over a year now. We generally provide virtual reality tournaments and fun experiences for people to enjoy. As we offer our services free for users at public events we have a lot of people who’ve never used VR before and it never gets old seeing how excited and blown away they are! We’ve been to festivals, big gaming and tech events, bars, clubs and also attend charity events. We have content suitable for both kids and adults.”

Tech-wise, Jake told us: “We usually use our HTC Vive headset to provide our VR experiences, however, we’ve recently purchased a KAT VR treadmill on early release – the only model currently in UK – it’s pretty mind blowing some of the tech being created nowadays! Its debut was held in the Lazy Lizard during Manchester Gamers Unite’s (MGU) biggest event yet, it’s pretty mind blowing some of the tech being created nowadays!”

The event at FAB Café is sure to go down well, and will be the start of something bigger: “We have future plans to work with a charity supporting bees and pollinators across U.K. by raising awareness and money through our events.”

Bee VR is also looking to expand their tech and what they can offer players: “We have lots of different experiences and games. Including shooters, strategy, sports, horror and even games with lightsabers! It all depends on the event and people who will be using the VR. We always try to stick with what the players’ desire the most and are always happy to suggest some of our own favourites.”

Make sure you get down early to FAB Café, Manchester (109 Portland Street) to make the most of the amazing VR experience provided by Bee VR, and enjoy the spookiest season of the year in the coolest geek bar ever created.
