Remaking classic films always firmly splits opinion amongst fans and critics alike, and here’s another redo to add to the list…

Yes, as the title suggests, Nicolas Roeg’s 1973 classic DON’T LOOK NOW is to get the remake treatment. StudioCanal and The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona will be producing the redo, which is already in the early development stage and currently looking to find a studio home. No writer or director is on board at this time.

The original film starred Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie as distraught parents searching Venice after they believe their deceased daughter is trying to make contact with them. A true all-time classic of its genre, the film is iconic for its score, its uncomfortable style, and for a twist that we wouldn’t dream to touch upon here (although chances are you’re fully aware of what we’re on about).

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
