It always seemed a given, but now comes official confirmation from Marvel Entertainment that Dominic Cooper will be returning to play Howard Stark in ABC’s AGENT CARTER series. Cooper has previously appeared as the character – father of a certain genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist – in both CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and the One-Shot AGENT CARTER feature.

The official word on the upcoming TV series reads:

It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalised when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.

Hayley Atwell will be headlining the show, reprising her role as Peggy Carter. The rest of the announced cast are Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley, and James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis. The series is being penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who also wrote the screenplay for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.

AGENT CARTER will debut early next year.
