With the eighth new season of DOCTOR WHO now just a matter of weeks away, filming continues in and around South Wales on, presumably, the last few episodes of the upcoming run. This morning saw the familiar TARDIS Police Box prop erected outside the NatWest Bank in Cardiff’s bustling Queen Street, where Peter Capaldi (The Doctor) and Jenna Coleman (Clara), watched by dozens of onlookers, filmed what appeared to be…

(Potential spoiler alert!!)

…Coleman’s ‘farewell’ from the Doctor! Capaldi steps into the TARDIS, the prop is wheeled away and Coleman walks away along the street.

STARBURST was there to capture the moment before the call of ‘we’re out of here’ and the TARDIS was dismantled rather than dematerialised… (all photos by an over-excited Paul Mount).

 

DOCTOR WHO returns to BBC1 and BBC America on 23rd August. STARBURST will be in attendance at and reporting from the official series launch in Cardiff on 7th August.
