Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures is currently looking at having D.J. Caruso helm the next installment in their G.I. JOE franchise. Caruso is best known for his work on EAGLE EYE, DISTBURBIA and I AM NUMBER FOUR.

This live-action JOE series debuted back in 2009 with G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA before taking in an impressive return with 2013’s Dwayne Johnson-starring G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. Between the two films, they’ve grossed over $675 million globally. No exact plot specifics are known for G.I. JOE 3 at this stage, although it’s believed that the main focus of the attention will be on Johnson’s Roadblock character. LETHAL WEAPON 4 and SHOOTER’s Jonathan Lemkin is currently working on a script for the film.
