Lowell Dean, the director of horror-comedies WolfCop and Another WolfCop, as well as this year’s wrestling horror movie Dark Match, is back on screens in time for Halloween with his latest feature, Die Alone. The pic stars Frank Grillo (The Purge: Anarchy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix franchise) and Douglas Smith (Don’t Worry Darling, Big Little Lies).
In the Canadian horror-thriller film, “Set in a future where society collapses following a catastrophic pandemic, Die Alone follows Ethan (Smith), a young man with amnesia, who bands together with Mae (Moss), a rugged survivalist. Under siege from the zombie-like monsters created by the outbreak, Ethan must use Mae’s survival skills to find his missing girlfriend, before a fateful encounter with Kai (Grillo) unravels a secret that lies just beyond his fractured memory.”
Lowell Dean both writes and directs the film, produced by Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman and Larry Greenberg for Quiver Distribution. Also producing are Kevin DeWalt, Danielle Masters, and Benjamin DeWalt of Minds Eye Entertainment. Executive producers include Scott Martin, Michael Slifkin, and Jack Sheehan of Archstone. The post-apocalyptic feature will have its global premiere at the 2024 Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival later this month.
Die Alone releases in cinemas and on VOD from October 18th, 2024. Watch the trailer below:
