With production already underway on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, some new details are starting to emerge on the ‘big bad’ of James Gunn’s Guardians sequel.

JoBlo is reporting that the main villain of the film will be Ayesha, aka Her//Kismet/Paragon. What’s most interesting about that is that the scientists who created Her also created Him… a character who would be known as Adam Warlock, who is somebody rumoured to be Peter Quill’s father in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comic book realm, Ayesha would actually hunt down Warlock in order to create a perfect race.

Guardians 2 will see the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Brandon Cooper and Vin Diesel as the titular team, not to mention returns for Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker and Glenn Close. New additions include Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Nathan Fillion and Sylvester Stallone.

At present, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set for April 28th, 2017.
