The cast for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus follow-up, Alien: Covenant, has brought in a new addition in the form of Demian Bichir.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that the Mexican actor, recently seen in Quentin Tarantino’s fantastic The Hateful Eight, is officially on board for Scott’s Covenant. Bichir joins a cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, and Kenny F’n Powers himself, Danny McBride. It’s also believed that Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw may be back in a small role, with her last seen alongside Fassbender’s android David at the end of Prometheus.

The current synopsis for Alien: Covenant reads:

Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world – whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

At present, Alien: Covenant is set for an October 6th, 2017 release.
