So, Deadpool is finally in cinemas as of today (for those of you who’ve already seen it, it’s pretty awesome, isn’t it?), and 20th Century Fox are already looking ahead at what’s next for the Merc with a Mouth. And yes, by that we, of course, mean a sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wenick are already well underway on penning a script for a Deadpool sequel which has already been green-lit by Fox. Director Tim Miller isn’t signed on for any sequel at this stage, so there’s no news on whether he’ll be back for a Deadpool 2 just yet, although star Ryan Reynolds has recently talked about how he’d happily play Wade Wilson for the rest of his life.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops. And in the meantime, be sure to check out our Deadpool review to see what we thought of Wade’s first big screen solo outing.
