With Deadpool 2 having new found its Cable and Domino, it looks as if certain other members of X-Force will be joining Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth when the sequel is released next year.

As per ComicBook.com, it’s being reported that the Deadpool sequel is looking to bring Sunspot, Feral and Shatterstar into the cinematic fold. All three have been members of the X-Force comic book team, much like Deadpool, Cable and Domino, and so seeing them coming together with their fellow mutants isn’t all that surprising even if the timing may seem a little soon.

If you remember, 20th Century Fox has been working away on bringing X-Force to the big screen for a few years now, with the project seemingly stuck turning its wheels in development hell until Reynolds’ Wade Wilson changed things up.

Following the success of Deadpool last year, Fox saw the Merc with a Mouth as the perfect way to bring the X-Force team to life, with it initially believed that the already-confirmed Deadpool 3 would indeed serve as the X-Force film that the studio had been trying to develop for a while now. That idea was shot down, with it confirmed that Deadpool 3 and X-Force are both separate pictures and that both are indeed happening.

As things edge closer to X-Force, it was believed that more of the badass merc mutants would be introduced at various points, although it now looks as if we’ll be getting the introduction of Cable, Domino, Sunspot, Feral and Shatterstar as soon as Deadpool 2.

Where this new trio is concerned, Sunspot pulls his powers from the sun, Feral is a cat-like mutant with enhanced senses and a healing factor, and Shatterstar is a super-strong time-travelling mutant who is the son of Dazzler and Longshot. Sunspot may be familiar to fans of the main X-Men movie franchise, for Adan Canto appeared as the character in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

If these X-Force members do indeed turn up in Deadpool 2 when the David Leitch-helmed sequel arrives in June 2018, they’ll be joining Reynolds’ titular Chiyonosake, Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino, not to mention Leslie Uggams returning as Blind Al.

As ever, expect more on all of this as and when we get it.
