It was reported earlier this month that a new take on Vixen was to be a part of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s second season, and now there’s word on who’s landed that particular gig.

The CW has announced that Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who some may remember for a small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be playing Amaya Jiwe in Legends’ new season. Jiwe will be the grandmother of Mari McCabe, the Vixen played by Megalyn Echikunwoke in Arrow’s recent fourth season and in CW Seed’s animated Vixen. This new (or is that older?) Vixen will have the same powers as her granddaughter, as in she can channel the powers of animals.

Season 2 of The CW’s time-travelling show is set to enter more into the territory of the Justice Society as the first season’s final moments saw Rex Tyler turn up in an attempt to save Rip Hunter’s group from potential doom.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns to US screens on October 13th, with a UK airing hopefully following shortly after that.
