Having now found its titular heroine and its James Olsen, it’s been revealed just which villain will be taking centre-stage in the pilot episode of CBS’ SUPERGIRL.

TV Line is reporting that Lumberjack will be butting heads with Kara Zor-El in the first outing for the show. An obscure villain, to say the least. The character was created by Gerry Conway and Jose Delbo back in 1980 but would only make one comic book appearance – that’d be in WONDER WOMAN #268.

The repot goes on to say that Lumberjack will be an established villain in SUPERGIRL and will have previously gone up against Superman. In the episode, he’ll have been hired by an unknown ‘big bad’ to get details on just what Kara can do with her powers. Nobody has been cast in the role at this stage.

Currently on board for SUPERGIRL is Melissa Benoist as Kara, with Mehcad Brooks recently confirmed to be playing Jimmy Olsen.
