Back in early 2015, there was a huge buzz about a board game called Citymania, a high-speed city planning game in which players took the role of architects trying to create the perfect city.

Games giant Days of Wonder have announced that this exciting-looking game will be released under the name Quadropolis™. The game won the 2015 International Game Designers Contest of Boulogne Billancourt, beating competition from an ever growing and constantly innovating market.

In Quadropolis players send their architects to the global Construction Site to have different buildings erected in their city, each of them allowing the player to score victory points. There are various types of buildings with different scoring patterns. The secret is to find the right combination of buildings before your opponent does.

“Because of its simple mechanics, Quadropolis is accessible to everyone”, said François Gandon, game designer of Quadropolis. “The idea of the game is to mix a strategic dimension with the long-term planning in a modern city – and a tactical dimension, such as the constraints that a mayor experiments with every day. As a result, players have to make important choices on each turn.”
