We’ve known for a while that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was to take centre-stage in an all-female DC movie, but now comes some more solid news on the film.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Suicide Squad’s David Ayer is the man tasked with directing what has now been titled Gotham City Sirens. There’s no confirmation on just which characters will be joining Robbie’s Harleen at this stage, although the comic book title of the same name featured the likes of Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Zatanna, and Talia al Ghul.

As well as Ayer and Robbie, the film also has Geneva Robertson-Dworet on board. Having recently working on the screenplays for upcoming efforts Sherlock Holmes 3 and the Tomb Raider redo, she’ll be putting together the script for the film.

No exact release date has been set for Gotham City Sirens yet, but Warner Bros. is supposedly fast tracking the film, with a 2018 release already being talked about.

Expect more on this as and when it develops.
