Having been teased for a little while now, it appears that a third MACHETE movie is indeed happening.

Speaking to Halloween Daily News at Charlotte’s Mad Monster Party, star Danny Trejo revealed, “Robert and I are going to start to do MACHETE KILLS IN SPACE, so that’s going to be awesome. We’re going to be working on it this year.”

The initial idea for MACHETE came about for one of the faux trailers that were part of the DEATH PROOF/PLANET TERROR double feature GRINDHOUSE release. The concept was turned into a 2010 movie and then a sequel, MACHETE KILLS, arrived in 2013.
