In some surprising news, it’s being reported that Danny McBride is in talks to join Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus follow-up.

The Wrap broke the story, with the man best known for being Kenny F’n Powers in Eastbound and Down in early talks to join the film. No details are known on what role he’s up for just yet, although if he does end up signed on for Covenant then he’ll join a cast that’s currently made up of Katherine Waterston and the returning Michael Fassbender.

The official synopsis on the film reads:

Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

At present, Alien: Covenant is set for an October 6th, 2017 release.
