Marvel Studios has announced that Daniel Bruhl is the latest name to be added to the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, although his specific role has not been revealed just yet. Bruhl broke onto the scene for most with a fantastic turn in 2003’s GOOD BYE LENIN! before garnering mainstream attention for his appearances in the like of Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and Ron Howard’s RUSH.

On this new addition, Marvel’s Kevin Feige said, “With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.

As for speculation, the current online rumour seems to be that Bruhl will be playing long-time Cap villain Baron Zemo, whilst Variety is reporting that his role may be that of a minor villain in CIVIL War and then the central villain in Scott Derrickson’s DOCTOR STRANGE. That is purely that, though: rumour and speculation. What is known is that he’ll be joining a film that will see Chris Evans return as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and the MCU debut of Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther.

To be directed by THE WINTER SOLDIER’s Anthony and Joe Russo, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is currently set for a May 6th, 2016 release.
