It’s largely been known for months that X-23 will be a part of Hugh Jackman’s upcoming final Wolverine outing, Logan, but now there’s finally something seemingly official on all of this.

The recent trailer for Logan was absolutely mesmerising, and it looks as if all of the pieces are in place for what should hopefully be a truly special movie, but in amongst the shots of a beaten down Wolvie who is unsure of his place in a desolate and destroyed future world, there was a young girl. Many believed that the girl was X-23, a comic book character (well, she technically debuted in the animated X-Men: Evolution) who is a young female Wolverine clone, although the trailer saw her remain nameless. Courtesy off 20th Century Fox’s official Instagram account, we now know that Dafne Keen is playing a character named Laura…

Of course, comic book fans will instantly realise that the name later given to X-23 is none other than Laura Kinney.

As well as Jackman and Keen, Logan will also feature Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, Boyd Holbrook as the villainous Donald Pierce, Richard E. Grant as the no-good Dr. Zander Rice, and then unknown roles for the likes of Elizabeth Rodriguez, Eriq La Salle, and Elise Neal.

To be directed by The Wolverine’s James Mangold, Logan is currently shooting ahead of a March 3rd, 2017 release. The film will be Hugh Jackman’s ninth and final outing as ol’ Canucklehead.
