Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman has added Gladiator’s Connie Neilsen to its ranks as Hippolyta, the mother of Gal Gadot’s titular Diana.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Nielsen, also known for the likes of The Following and Nymphomaniac: Vol. 1, has nabbed the role that was previously believed to be going to Nicole Kidman. Nielsen joins a cast that includes Gadot as Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, and then unknown roles for Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Said Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis and Ewan Bremner.

Gadot’s Diana will, of course, make her big screen bow when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits the big screen in March, with the character also set to play a pivotal role in Zack Snyder’s two-part Justice League adventure as well as her June 2017 solo movie.
